Process and Equipment Engineering Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Process and Equipment Engineering engineer for its Fab 10N/X site. The role covers diagnosing process and equipment problems, running process and equipment evaluations, supporting new equipment qualification and ramp-up, and driving yield improvement and cost reduction. It also involves managing supplier quality and auditing, and integrating AI-assisted tools into daily work.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose and resolve process and equipment problems
• Coordinate and run process, equipment and material evaluation and optimization initiatives, implementing changes at each process step
• Lead or support new equipment qualification to support new technology development and production ramp-up
• Lead or take part in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities
• Validate and spread new process baselines, including new processes, tools and materials for new product introduction
• Support SPC/FDC/RMS/APC
• Manage and audit material suppliers for quality, cost and risk objectives, and support internal and external audits
• Define processing equipment requirements and specifications, review processing techniques, and evaluate test data to set specification limits
• Take part in design requirement reviews with cross-functional teams and share AI-enabled improvements
• Maintain MES-related databases and analyse system data to find trends, issues and improvement opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator who can collaborate across engineering, operations and quality teams
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic manufacturing setting
• Experience in or knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing is a plus; internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable

Required skills

• Statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE) and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
• Knowledge of AI tools and application
• Preferred: MES and automation tools, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), and semiconductor manufacturing knowledge
