Job description
About the role
Micron is hiring a Process Control Engineer (Systems) to develop, deploy and sustain its Process Control Systems (PCS) across Assembly & Test manufacturing. The role works closely with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Automation/IT, Manufacturing and Global Quality to ensure proactive control, strong governance and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Own PCS systems: configure and sustain Applied E3 Process Control (trace, UVA, models, alarms, data health), maintain SPACE SPC charts, limits and automated reactions, and keep SECS/GEM communication and equipment-to-host connectivity stable.
- Maintain MES/MAM/RMS interfaces with strong data integrity and version control.
- Lead the SPC lifecycle (variable selection, chart setup, limits, automated responses, chart health reviews) in line with Micron Global SPC Standards.
- Develop and maintain FDC models, classifiers, traces and limits, validate UVA and reduce false alarms, and govern OCAP logic and changes via ECN.
- Support MES and MAM logic, events, data collection and equipment states, and govern RMS recipe and version consistency.
- Track metrics such as OOC rate, false alarms, FDC coverage, reaction TAT and system reliability, perform root cause analysis and automate tasks with SQL and Python scripts.
- Work with cross-functional teams, keep documentation and audit evidence ready, and share best practices globally.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of SPC concepts, capability indices and OOC vs. OOS.
- Experience owning E3 models and SPACE SPC frameworks, and with FDC/OCAP in Assembly & Test or Frontend facilities.
- Experience with at least one Micron system: Applied E3 FDC/R2R, SPACE SPC, SECS/GEM, MES/MESCentral, RMS.
- Exposure to predictive analytics or smart manufacturing platforms, and familiarity with SPC governance and audits.
- Internship or semiconductor industry experience is a plus; leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable.
Required skills
- Scripting with SQL and Python, and process/equipment data interpretation.
- Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills, and effective collaboration across levels.
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.
