Process Engineer – Commissioning & Scale‑up

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead commissioning and trial‑run activities for our lithium‑battery recycling plant during a critical scale‑up phase. The role is hands‑on, requiring ownership of preparation, execution and continuous improvement of process lines.

Key responsibilities

• Drive process line commissioning: define steps, sequence activities, coordinate team and contractors, manage checklists and pre‑commissioning requirements.
• Lead trial production runs, track performance data, identify and resolve issues on the shop floor.
• Oversee scaling and integration of new equipment, ensuring smooth transition from pilot to larger operations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, conduct hazard and feasibility studies, and perform on‑site troubleshooting.
• Execute equipment qualification against specifications and industry standards.
• Identify bottlenecks in throughput, energy use and material recovery and propose practical improvements.
• Develop data‑tracking and monitoring systems, lead process documentation and standardisation, and optimise workflows for safety and cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial commissioning, trial runs and scale‑up of chemical or electro‑chemical processes.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make decisive decisions on the shop floor.
• Excellent communication skills to work with suppliers, contractors and cross‑functional teams.
