Product Engineer - NAND Engineering Tool Development

About the role

Micron is hiring a Product Engineer for NAND engineering tool development. The engineer designs and enables engineering tools and solutions for test platforms, with a strong focus on tester bring-up, debug and characterization. The role provides hands-on technical support in lab environments, integrates lab instrumentation into tester workflows and ensures reliable data capture for failure analysis and characterization. It works cross-functionally with Device Product Engineering, Validation and Platform teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design device-specific hardware solutions and engineering tester frameworks for characterization, debug and validation.
• Develop and refine engineering tools, debug features and workflows that improve tester usability, observability and diagnostics.
• Leverage AI-enabled approaches to speed up tester program development, bring-up and debug, keeping outputs aligned with real tester behavior and silicon response.
• Lead tester bring-up, issue triage and root-cause failure analysis, integrating lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and power instrumentation.
• Partner with Device PE and Validation teams to improve debug methodologies, reduce cycle time and strengthen failure resolution.
• Collaborate with global teams across Device PE, Validation, SIG and Platform to align on tester capabilities, limitations and roadmap priorities.
• Contribute to next-generation tester architecture discussions with practical feedback on tooling and usability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, product engineering, validation engineering or engineering tool development.
• Experience with semiconductor test platforms, tester bring-up, debug and characterization.
• Experience programming in C/C++ or Python, and with AI-assisted software development tools.
• Experience with debugging methodologies, root cause analysis and failure investigation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication across global teams, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
