Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician is a frontline position responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of chemical processing equipment in a manufacturing plant. You will monitor process parameters, perform routine checks, and ensure that high‑quality chemical products are produced while strictly adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce Zero Deviation Safety and Stop Work Authority policies and escalate any deviations.
• Operate assigned processes to meet daily quality, production and productivity targets.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and serve on the ALAM Emergency Response team, including use of a full‑face respirator.
• Prioritise daily tasks with supervisors to maintain operational continuity.
• Assemble, disassemble and perform basic maintenance on production equipment during changeovers.
• Operate and troubleshoot analytical equipment for in‑process testing and final product validation.
• Review, update and maintain SOPs, work instructions and other operating documents.
• Complete all required training, qualifications and personal development goals.

Required profile

• Minimum Nitec qualification in Chemical (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow established procedures.
• Willingness to participate in emergency response activities.

Required skills

• Operation and troubleshooting of analytical testing equipment.
• Basic mechanical maintenance of production machinery.
• Assembly and disassembly of process equipment for changeovers.
• Documentation management – updating SOPs and work instructions.
