Project and Customer Support Manager

About the role

A listed European engineering company that designs, assembles and sells products and services in the transport and logistics field is hiring a Project and Customer Support Manager for its new Singapore regional office. The role reports directly to the President Asia Pacific in Singapore, with a dotted line to the Project & Commercial Director APAC, and supports business growth across the Asia-Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project life cycle: gather requirements, feasibility studies, planning, proposals, contracts, sales and service delivery
• Plan, schedule, manage and monitor project progress from client setup through to solution implementation
• Assess project challenges and develop solutions that meet productivity, quality and client compliance requirements
• Provide technical and customer support, establishing quality support and delivering strategic technical solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams from remote locations and liaise with Europe-based engineering teams
• Bridge gaps between commercial and technical teams, and identify internal process improvements
• Document internal and client-specific policies and procedures, and maintain relationships with strategic partners

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent
• 8-10 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in industrial automation or robotics
• Proven track record in project management
• Good network in ports, airports and sea ports, and experience in partner relationship management
• Ability to work in a lean team with autonomy, and willingness to travel (APAC role)
• Mandarin Chinese speaker preferred, given the strong focus on business development in China

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of project management in the automation industry (AGV a plus)
• Full understanding of the sales cycle
• PMP qualification a plus
