Project Engineer (Building / Civil)

About the role

A well-established construction firm is recruiting a Project Engineer to deliver large-scale building projects from mobilisation through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and ensure quality, safety and programme compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in planning, managing and monitoring on-site construction activities to meet milestones and contractual obligations.
• Develop, update and track detailed work schedules, aligning resources and subcontractors to programme requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, specialist subcontractors and statutory authorities to resolve technical and site issues.
• Lead and supervise a team of site supervisors, keeping them accountable for workmanship and productivity.
• Inspect sites regularly to confirm works follow approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Enforce workplace safety and health regulations and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Manage documentation such as inspection and test plans, RFIs, progress reports and as-built records.
• Use BIM and VDC tools for coordination, clash detection and sequencing, and proactively solve construction challenges.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building or a related discipline recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in building or civil engineering construction.
• Experience across at least two complete HDB project cycles, from start to finish.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and current industry standards.
• Familiarity with Singapore workplace safety and health legislation and site safety management.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in BIM and VDC platforms; experience coordinating model-based workflows is advantageous.
• Ability to lead site teams, manage subcontractors and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and decision-making under time pressure.
