Project Engineer (Design Services)

About the role

The Project Engineer (Design Services) will provide deep technical expertise in Land, Mobile & Radio (LMR) security systems, focusing on RF design, system configuration, troubleshooting and optimisation from concept through deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design Phase: Produce complete, installable design packages (floor plans, schematics, riser diagrams, termination details, panel elevations) that meet client standards, CPTED principles and building codes; complete programming forms and attend review meetings.
• Installation Phase: Develop detailed construction schedules, lead coordination meetings, act as the central security liaison with major trades, manage procurement, permits, licences and union issues, and oversee installation quality and third‑party testing.
• Closeout Phase: Coordinate system programming, perform pre‑installation sign‑offs, oversee testing and calibration, demonstrate system operation for final acceptance, prepare O&M manuals and as‑built documents, and provide training to security, facility and technical staff.

Required profile

• Proven LMR technical expertise.
• RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave) – Level 2 or higher.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technical design role.
• Experience with analog and digital radio systems (P25, DMR, TETRA) and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design.
