Project Engineer - Waste Management & Pneumatic Systems

About the role

A specialist engineering organisation that designs, installs and commissions pneumatic waste conveyance systems across Singapore is hiring a Project Engineer. Working alongside an experienced Project Manager, you will deliver multiple projects from initial design through to client handover. This is a hands-on role combining technical coordination, commercial documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and monitoring day-to-day project operations across several concurrent projects.
• Ensure a smooth and structured takeover of incoming projects from the sales department, including cost-sheet and cost-estimate preparation on receipt of work orders.
• Liaise directly with clients, contractors and consultants during design, execution and handover.
• Attend project meetings, coordinate technical discussions, prepare shop drawings, manage documentation submissions and supervise on-site works as required.
• Check design drawings, respond to project queries and resolve discrepancies at the design stage.
• Maintain and update approved project schedules to reflect event changes.
• Prepare progressive claims and related claim documentation to support timely payments to clients.
• Coordinate with current and prospective suppliers and carry out other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Diploma and/or degree in Mechanical Engineering, another engineering discipline, Project Management or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of relevant experience in waste management and pneumatic waste conveyance systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and a solid understanding of system integration works.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation, cost estimation and schedule management.
• Comfortable attending site visits; own transport is not necessary.
