Project Management Team Lead

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is looking for a Project Management Team Lead in Singapore to drive successful project delivery, operational excellence and business growth. The role involves overseeing a portfolio of projects, leading and developing a team of Project Managers, and acting as a trusted partner to customers, business leaders and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Project Managers and project professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, safety and high performance.
• Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful execution, resource optimisation, risk management and achievement of business objectives.
• Ensure projects meet contractual commitments, quality standards, budget targets and planned schedules.
• Establish and maintain project governance in line with company policies, procedures and industry best practice.
• Monitor project performance, identify improvements and apply lessons learned.
• Partner with stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Support revenue growth through customer relationships and new business opportunities.
• Oversee financial performance of the portfolio, including profitability, cash flow, forecasting accuracy and risk mitigation.
• Ensure consistent application of contract, claims, procurement and commercial management practices.
• Act as escalation point for complex project and customer issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience leading project teams and managing complex project portfolios in engineering, energy, industrial, infrastructure, automation or related sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership experience motivating, coaching and developing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing customer relationships and complex stakeholder environments.
• Ability to work in a global, matrixed, multicultural organisation.

Required skills

• Understanding of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, contract management and financial controls.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is an advantage.
