3degrees · Singapore
Job description
About the role
The Carbon Project Operations team supports, develops and manages high-integrity projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and monetize environmental benefits through voluntary and compliance carbon markets. This Project Manager role bridges early-stage origination and diligence with post-signature project execution, focusing on early-stage project structures in compliance markets and bilateral frameworks such as Article 6.2 and CORSIA. It is a full-time, exempt, on-site role in Singapore reporting to the Lead Originator, APAC, with a dotted line to the Senior Director, Carbon Project Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate early-stage invitations, municipal proposals and developer leads in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Bhutan, Rwanda and Kenya, and run initial technical and financial assessments against Singapore's Article 6.2 compliance buyer criteria.
- Review third-party technical reports, financial models and site data to give feasibility, delivery-risk and MRV recommendations.
- Lead feasibility studies with local partners, identify technical, operational and carbon-accounting gaps, and help draft Project Description Documents.
- Carry out field site visits to inspect assets such as landfill gas capture, cookstoves and waste-to-energy facilities, validate data and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage long-term MRV implementation, including data collection models, quality control and monitoring plans for carbon credit issuances.
- Engage local governments, communities, developers and regulators, and set up scalable data-processing and project-tracking practices.
Required profile
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in carbon markets, project development, renewable energy, environmental commodities or related fields.
- Knowledge of Article 6.2 bilateral frameworks, CORSIA and major voluntary/compliance standards such as Verra and Gold Standard.
- Experience preparing project documentation and supporting validation, verification and registry processes.
- Ability to travel frequently, including at short notice, with about 20% international travel; right-to-work status is required as no sponsorship or relocation is provided.
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, a quantitative discipline or a related field preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel modelling and custom carbon calculation tools
- Technical writing
- Carbon accounting and MRV
