Strategic Sustainability Manager – Sustainable Natural Rubber

About the role

Continental seeks a Strategic Sustainability Manager to lead the governance, reporting and supplier engagement for sustainable natural rubber (SNR). The role will shape global policies, drive carbon‑neutral initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards across the natural rubber value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global natural rubber (SNR) governance frameworks and policies.
• Represent Continental in GPSNR working groups and shape sector‑wide standards and assurance models.
• Lead SNR assurance processes, risk assessments and mitigation plans across the supply chain.
• Engage with suppliers to build capacity, define improvement roadmaps and monitor performance.
• Oversee data governance, KPI reporting and annual SPOTT, GPSNR, ESRS and customer reporting cycles.
• Implement carbon neutrality guidelines for natural rubber, supporting Scope 3 Category 1 emissions reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Sustainability Management, Environmental Sciences, Supply Chain Management, International Relations or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing or supply‑chain management, preferably in natural rubber or automotive industry.
• Proven experience representing organisations in international sustainability platforms such as GPSNR.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills with internal departments and external NGOs, customers and regulators.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sustainability standards and assurance models (Ecovadis, Rubberway, ZSL SPOTT).
• Proficiency with sustainability reporting frameworks and tools (GRI, CDP, GPSNR reporting).
• Data analysis and audit preparation capabilities for high‑quality, verifiable reporting.
