Project Manager - Marine Geotechnical

About the role

Fugro is hiring a Project Manager in Singapore to lead offshore geotechnical investigations, mainly in the APAC region, supported by other Fugro teams worldwide. Projects range from small site investigations to larger ones lasting several months. You will coordinate between the client, the vessel and the offshore project team, and you may take on other tasks during the industry's cyclical periods. Candidates must be citizens of and currently based in Singapore, Malaysia or Indonesia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate offshore geotechnical investigations from start-up, implementation, hand-over and close-out to evaluation, following the Fugro Project Management handbook
• Work closely with the Tendering, Operations, Vessel Management and Geotechnical Engineering teams
• Pre-plan fieldwork and agree scope and deliverables with the client representative
• Prepare Project Execution Plans including operational, quality, HSSE and emergency response plans
• Communicate specifications and requirements within the project team
• Control project budget and expenditure, review and approve invoices and recover costs from third parties where appropriate
• Follow Fugro's QHSE management systems and prepare project invoicing information
• Improve project performance, use feedback for learning and ensure efficient mobilisations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Offshore geotechnical or offshore drilling experience preferred
• Strong interest in project management and the liaison role between client, vessel and subcontractors
• Good oral and written English
• Team player, self-driven and flexible to variable workload and tasks

Required skills

• Experience with offshore geotechnical surveys is an advantage
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering or soil data interpretation is an advantage
• Commercial interest, tendering and contract negotiation experience is an advantage
• Project management certification is an advantage
