Project Officer - Cell Biology and Biochemistry

About the role

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is looking for a Project Officer to join the laboratory of Dr Alexander Ludwig. The project focuses on the organisation and function of the junction-associated actin cytoskeleton in epithelial cells.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design, conduct, analyse and critically interpret experiments at a high scientific standard.
• Present and discuss data in weekly group meetings.
• Provide general lab support and guidance and supervise undergraduate students.
• Prepare detailed reports and figures for publications and grant applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in cell biology, light microscopy, protein biochemistry and basic molecular cell biology techniques.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot under strict timelines, with strong organisational and time-management skills.

Required skills

• PCR applications, molecular cloning, cell culture, transfection, immunoprecipitation (IPs) and Western blotting.
• Data analysis tools such as ImageJ.
