Project Officer – Plant Genomics Data Analysis

About the role
We are seeking a Project Officer to support the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The role focuses on the analysis of plant genomics data, contributing to cutting‑edge research in genome assembly, annotation and functional studies.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble plant genomes using long‑read sequencing data.
- Perform de novo gene and repeat annotation of assembled genomes.
- Conduct computational analyses of transcriptomics and metabolomics datasets.
- Prepare manuscripts reporting research findings.
- Extract DNA and RNA using commercial kits.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three months of experience in genomic data analysis (e.g., final‑year project).
- Familiarity with a Linux server environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
