Project Quantity Surveyor – Civil Works

About the role

The Project Quantity Surveyor will manage the financial performance of civil construction projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget and in line with contractual obligations. Working closely with the project team, the role provides commercial support, handles variations, claims and payments, and liaises with clients and third‑party stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project costs, track expenses, review invoices and manage payment processes.
• Administer contracts between client, contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with terms, payment schedules, variations and claims.
• Conduct value engineering studies to propose cost‑saving alternatives in materials, methods and design.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontract awards, maintain award master lists and compile quantity take‑offs for each trade.
• Coordinate progress claims, variation orders, extension‑of‑time and loss & expense claims, and submit them to consultants or main contractors on time.
• Verify architect certificates, consultant assessments and payment responses; prepare payment summaries and supporting documentation.
• Attend project start‑up meetings, conduct site visits when required and support the project manager in claim assessments.
