Quality Engineer - Excursions, Deviations & Quality Culture

About the role

Micron is looking for a Quality Engineer to support its quality function, focusing on excursions, deviations and the quality culture of the team. The role covers coordination of deviation evaluations, root cause analysis, documentation and training, and integrates AI-assisted tools into daily work.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate deviation evaluations with the deviation owners and facilitate root cause analysis and systematic troubleshooting
• Drive accountability of actions and follow-up, and validate that root causes are supported by data
• Maintain documentation for excursions and publish excursion performance to management
• Help resolve roadblocks, guide deviation questions and identify early detection deficiencies
• Manage global and internal lessons learned systems and improve cross-area event response methods
• Communicate corporate Quality goals, facilitate excursion review meetings and run quality workshops and tutorials
• Promote quality culture through campaigns, quizzes, competitions and engagement programs
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Organizational skills, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, and strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Team-building skills across departments, excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to facilitate meetings and engage cross-area teams
• Ability to train team members in a classroom setting and individually
• Leadership and project/program management experience is advantageous

Required skills

• Preferred: Kepner-Tregoe, FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys problem-solving methodologies
• Preferred: semiconductor process flow, manufacturing flow, product testing, and quality and deviation management systems
• Preferred: process control solutions and SPC evaluation
• Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy
