Quality Engineer – Safety & Quality Management

About the role

The Quality Engineer will support the Manager in developing, implementing and continuously improving Satair's independent safety and quality management system. This role ensures compliance with relevant civil aviation authority regulations and international standards such as ISO 9001, AS9110 and AS9120.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary focal point for the Safety & Quality Management System and training management.
• Manage and improve the Safety Management System from present to operating and effective levels.
• Establish and maintain a training program for the maintenance organisation, including trainer selection and competence assessment.
• Oversee the safety reporting scheme, occurrence reporting system and internal investigations.
• Perform hazard identification, safety risk analysis and monitor effectiveness of risk controls.
• Provide periodic safety performance reports and maintain aviation safety records.
• Develop and maintain a safety data collection and processing system to support data‑driven decision making.
• Issue certificates of conformity and authorised release certificates where applicable.
• Support supplier discrepancy management, customer claims and warranty investigations.
• Assist in emergency response planning and promote safety and quality awareness across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and quality management within the aviation or aerospace sector.
• Strong knowledge of CAA regulations, ISO 9001, AS9110 and AS9120 standards.
• Ability to lead training programmes, conduct hazard analyses and manage safety reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills for safety data collection, trend analysis and corrective action monitoring.
