R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The R&D Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the creation of reliable, cost‑effective, high‑quality mechanical solutions. Working with internal teams and external partners, you will drive product development from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver product designs and assemblies on schedule, within cost targets, and meeting functional, reliability, safety, and performance specifications.
• Develop and execute test plans for new and existing designs, covering tolerance validation, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, EMI, safety, reliability, fan curves, power measurements, and acoustics.
• Collaborate with management, internal engineers, and outsourced development partners to communicate design status, progress, and issue resolution.
• Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, setting expectations for quality, schedule, and cost.
• Lead a project team of mechanical hardware engineers and external resources to produce moderately complex products.
• Generate process efficiencies and ensure thorough documentation and project management.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less‑experienced staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 4–10 years of experience in engineering design, hardware development lifecycle, or a related field (or 3–5 years with an advanced degree).
