Regional Category Manager - Lab Operations & CapEx Construction (APAC)

About the role

Applied Materials is hiring a Regional Category Manager (B4) for Lab Operations and CapEx Construction in its APAC region, based in Singapore. The role leads regional category execution, strategic sourcing, supplier management and stakeholder partnerships across the APAC footprint, covering Lab Operations, Lab Equipment, Tool Installation, Infrastructure, CapEx Construction, Engineering Services, Construction Management, MRO and Critical Facilities. It translates global category strategies into regional execution plans for major construction programs, semiconductor R&D labs, tool installations and facility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Translate global category strategies into APAC execution plans and regional sourcing roadmaps aligned to construction projects, lab expansions and tool installations
• Lead sourcing and supplier management for construction and infrastructure projects, including cleanroom projects, lab expansions and critical infrastructure, and manage General Contractor and Construction Manager engagement
• Drive commercial alignment across design-build, CMAR, GMP, lump sum and time-and-materials contracts, and improve cost transparency through benchmarking and should-cost analysis
• Lead lab operations, tool installation and technical services, supporting lifecycle management of lab assets and improving total cost of ownership
• Run competitive sourcing (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs), negotiate, assess suppliers and evaluate bids, and drive contract execution with Legal and Contracting teams
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, run supplier reviews and monitor quality, delivery, cost, innovation and risk metrics
• Act as the primary category management contact for regional stakeholders such as GWI, SPG, AGS, Facilities, Real Estate and Engineering, and present sourcing outcomes to leadership
• Monitor supplier, commercial, operational and market risks, support supplier qualification and onboarding, and ensure compliance with Applied Materials' sourcing and contracting requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (the text is cut off before listing further qualifications)
• Advanced proficiency in sourcing strategy, negotiation, stakeholder management and commercial analysis
• Ability to operate independently on complex sourcing initiatives, influence regional stakeholders and contribute market intelligence to global category leaders
