Regional Compliance Officer – Hedge Fund (Singapore)

About the role

The Regional Compliance Officer will support a global hedge fund operating in Singapore, ensuring adherence to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulations and internal risk frameworks. You will work closely with business units to embed compliance best practices across trading and investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit license applications, regulatory filings and periodic reports to MAS and other authorities.
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining the group compliance framework and related policies.
• Monitor and surveil trading activities to detect market abuse, insider trading and other violations.
• Investigate alerts generated by trade‑surveillance systems and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in regional projects such as system UAT, new investment model discussions and system enhancements.
• Support annual external audits and respond to ad‑hoc regulatory requests.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of in‑house compliance experience within a hedge fund, asset‑management or brokerage firm in Singapore.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory landscape, especially MAS guidelines on securities, futures and AML.
• Ability to multitask in a high‑pressure environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex regulatory concepts to non‑experts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related field; professional certifications such as CAMS or CRCM are a plus.
