Regional Transportation Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is hiring a Regional Transportation Specialist in Singapore for its Silicon Product Group. This is a carrier management role focused on making sure logistics service providers perform at the agreed level of execution. It covers air, ocean, ground and parcel shipping, and works with carriers, buyers and supplier managers to run the global freight and transportation network.

Key responsibilities

• Service level performance management: escalation management, on-time performance, missing, wrong and damage PPM
• Cross dock management, MBR participation, carrier management and new volume onboarding
• Define global processes that apply everywhere, set clear SLAs and KPIs, and review transit times against pricing schedules
• Manage carrier SOWs, track company-wide closures and market conditions such as port strikes, and work with carriers on contingency plans for delays
• Drive continuous performance improvement, including gross and net score improvements, and manage MBR action trackers
• Project management for specialized cargo, quotation creation in cargo base, and support for track and trace and cross dock issues
• Meet regularly with Material Project Managers and Cross Dock providers to select modes of transport and launch new programs such as Cross Dock
• Act as escalation point for carriers, not for internal customers, and work with CBM teams on performance plans and carrier change projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• Years of logistics or related experience that contribute to job grade placement
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with them
