Regulatory Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our legal team and support the company’s rapidly growing global business (ex‑China). You will work closely with various business groups to evaluate new initiatives, navigate regulatory risks, and help shape how our products and services operate across markets worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business units to understand operations and product mechanics, identify regulatory and compliance risks, and provide practical legal advice.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments across key global markets and assess their impact on products and operations.
• Support the creation and implementation of compliance frameworks, policies, processes, and training programs tailored to different markets and product lines.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage regulatory inquiries, reviews, and investigations.
• Contribute a regulatory perspective to product launches and market expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a common‑law jurisdiction such as Hong Kong, Singapore, or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Experience in regulatory compliance gained in‑house at a technology or internet company, at a law firm advising tech clients, or in a government regulatory body.
• Strong product sense and curiosity about the internet and technology industry, with the ability to quickly understand product mechanics and translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
• Proactive, self‑driven, able to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.

Required skills

• Legal qualification in a common‑law jurisdiction.
• Regulatory compliance experience in the technology or internet sector.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory developments across multiple jurisdictions.
