Reliability Engineer

About the role

ResMed is looking for a Reliability Engineer in Singapore to improve the reliability, availability, maintainability and performance of manufacturing equipment, processes and products. You will work closely with Product Development, Quality, Operations and Manufacturing teams to drive reliability initiatives, resolve technical issues, run validation activities and implement continuous improvement programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documentation to meet production, quality, reliability, safety and cost objectives.
• Partner with Product Development to ensure robust, reliable and manufacturable designs throughout the product lifecycle.
• Conduct reliability assessments, failure investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Support prototyping, verification, process validation and new product introduction (NPI).
• Analyze reliability and manufacturing performance metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Recommend equipment, process and design enhancements to reduce downtime and increase reliability.
• Develop and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies where applicable.
• Lead and take part in Lean, Six Sigma, GMP and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with Quality Management Systems, GMP requirements and OH&S standards.
• Provide technical training and build cross-functional relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Biomedical or related).
• At least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, medical device or other regulated environment.
• Experience in process validation, manufacturing support, reliability analysis and technical problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, data analysis and continuous improvement methods.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred skills

• Reliability engineering methodologies, including RCA, FMEA, statistical analysis and reliability modeling.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, GMP and ISO 13485.
• Equipment reliability, asset performance improvement and preventive maintenance programs.
