Relief Teacher – Middle & High School

About the role

UWCSEA Dover and East are seeking qualified Relief Teachers to provide timely cover for absent colleagues across middle and high school classes. This role offers the chance to engage with a diverse, international student body while upholding the school’s mission of education for peace and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons as required, including lesson planning for advanced cover assignments.
• Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Provide constructive feedback on student progress when appropriate.
• Potentially supervise student activities and extracurricular programmes.

Required profile

• A good university degree and an internationally recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching in a school setting; international school experience is an advantage.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and the ability to adapt pedagogy to varied learner needs.
• Flexibility, positivity and the ability to build rapport with students.

Required skills

• Strong classroom management capabilities.
• Adherence to UWCSEA Professional and Safeguarding Codes of Conduct.
• Ability to tailor teaching approaches to meet individual learner requirements.
