Research Assistant - Ageing Research

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at NTU Novena Campus is seeking a Research Assistant to support research focused on ageing patterns in Asian populations and their potential mechanisms with disease. The assistant provides comprehensive support to the Principal Investigator and research team by overseeing day-to-day coordination and execution of research projects, including scientific project planning, research operations and administrative coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor research projects, including timelines, milestones, deliverables and supporting documentation
• Track project progress, identify delays or operational issues and follow up with team members to resolve them
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project, research and laboratory records to support grant reporting, audits and compliance
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment, research materials, samples, procurement and inventory
• Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, consolidate project updates and follow up on action items
• Ensure compliance with institutional requirements, research agreements, governance, laboratory safety standards and ethical approvals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or a related field; fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Experience in research project coordination, laboratory management or research administration is advantageous
• Good organisational and documentation skills, able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
• Able to work independently and as a team player
