Research Assistant – Biochemistry & Cell Biology

About the role

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Assistant to support a project investigating protein‑ligand interactions using mass spectrometry. The role involves both administrative and experimental laboratory work within a collaborative research environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing, documentation of equipment and reagents.
• Conduct literature research and prepare reports, reviews or manuscripts.
• Receive and perform instrument maintenance training for the mass spectrometer.
• Set up, implement, develop and validate instruments under supervision.
• Carry out basic biological experiments such as assays, cell culture, and gel electrophoresis.
• Support other laboratory members and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Biology or a related field.
• Experience with cell culture, pipetting and other basic biological techniques.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Self‑motivated with strong responsibility for research work.
• Laboratory/research experience preferred.
