Research Assistant – Multimodal Large Language Models

About the role

NTU Singapore’s College of Computing and Data Science is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to advance cutting‑edge work on multimodal large language models (LLMs) and hallucination mitigation. The role involves independent research, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and mentorship of graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a methodology/framework for multimodal large language models.
• Investigate and create techniques to mitigate hallucinations in LLM outputs.
• Document research findings in reports and submit papers to international peer‑reviewed conferences or journals.
• Present research results at academic venues.
• Mentor Masters and Final Year Project (FYP) students.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated R&D experience with multimodal large language models.
• Strong analytical, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and implement novel methods.
• Willingness to adopt innovative ideas and work in a multidisciplinary environment.
