Research Assistant – Science of Learning (Psychology)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join the interdisciplinary Science of Learning team at Nanyang Technological University. The role focuses on developing brain‑based machine‑learning models that identify early mathematical learning difficulties in kindergarten and early primary students.

Key responsibilities

• Handle grant‑related administrative tasks, including preparation and amendment of ethics documents.
• Conduct literature reviews and draft research progress and policy reports for stakeholders.
• Coordinate and run neuroimaging studies, ensuring high‑quality data collection.
• Develop, implement, and manage data analysis pipelines for AI‑driven analysis.
• Organise regular meetings with collaborators and prepare half‑annual progress reports.
• Set up research protocols and contribute to the overall project workflow.

Required profile

• BSc degree in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, educational neuroscience, AI in education, biomedical engineering, computer science or related fields.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to fluid research situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence engaging young children in a research setting.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
