About the role
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join the JChen Lab. The role focuses on viral immunopathogenesis, investigating how viral infections drive neuroinflammation and musculoskeletal disease across organ systems.
Key responsibilities
- Perform molecular, cellular and virology‑based experiments under appropriate biosafety conditions.
- Assist with experimental design, data collection, analysis and documentation.
- Support laboratory operations, including reagent preparation and inventory management.
- Organise data and prepare materials for presentations and publications.
- Participate in collaborative research activities within LKCMedicine.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
- 0‑3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Interest in infectious diseases, neurobiology or musculoskeletal research.
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Molecular biology techniques.
- Cell culture methods.
- Immunology techniques.
- Virology experimental procedures.
- Familiarity with Biosafety Level 2 and 3 practices (or willingness to be trained).
