Research Fellow (Neuroendocrinology)

About the role

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to join the YES Group. The role focuses on interdisciplinary investigations of natural products, functional foods and dietary bioactives that influence neuroendocrine, metabolic and gut‑brain axis pathways in stress‑, ageing‑ and diet‑related disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute in‑vitro, ex‑vivo and in‑vivo experiments covering molecular, cellular, biochemical, histological and animal studies.
• Investigate mechanisms linking natural products and functional foods to neuroendocrine regulation, neuroinflammation and gut‑brain axis biology.
• Analyse data, troubleshoot protocols and maintain detailed research records.
• Prepare manuscripts, grant applications, progress reports, ethics/IACUC submissions and conference abstracts.
• Mentor graduate, undergraduate and junior research staff while ensuring laboratory safety and daily operations.
• Present research findings in group meetings, seminars and scientific conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in neuroscience, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, food science, nutrition, pharmacology, biomedical science or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research experience in neuroendocrinology, metabolism, gut‑brain axis, neuroinflammation, natural products or functional foods.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, communication and scientific writing skills.
