Research Associate – 3D/4D Vision & Generative AI

About the role

The Nanyang Technological University’s College of Computing and Data Science is seeking a Research Associate to advance cutting‑edge research in 3D/4D scene reconstruction, rendering, and generative AI. The role involves developing novel algorithms, building large‑scale data pipelines, and contributing to high‑impact publications and open‑source projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on 3D/4D scene reconstruction and rendering techniques such as NeRF, 3D Gaussian Splatting, and novel view synthesis, as well as scene understanding and interaction.
• Develop generative AI models for video and 3D/4D generation, world models, and vision‑language (VLM) or vision‑language‑action (VLA) systems, supported by large‑scale data pipelines.
• Publish findings in top‑tier conferences/journals, contribute to open‑source releases, mentor junior researchers, and report project progress.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, AI, Machine Learning or related field (PhD preferred).
• Strong research record in computer vision or machine learning with the ability to conduct innovative research.
• Independent, highly analytical, proactive, and a collaborative team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of the project domain and demonstrated capability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and implement new methods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and to initiate multidisciplinary collaborations.
