Research Engineer II – Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Implicant Pte. Ltd., a Singapore deep‑tech spin‑off from NTU SPMS, is building a managed cloud platform that runs interpretable machine‑learning models on encrypted data using fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). We are looking for a Research Engineer II who can develop and ship full‑stack features end‑to‑end, from database migrations to APIs and front‑end interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and ship features across the Implicant platform, covering database migration, API development and front‑end UI.
• Extend the training and inference pipeline, including data ingestion, training jobs, Pareto frontier analysis, rule extraction and model distillation.
• Maintain and enhance the customer‑facing dashboard (inference page, model catalogue, billing).
• Co‑develop the external API and Python SDK alongside the full‑stack lead.
• Implement the FHE bootstrap key onboarding flow for encrypted inference.
• Integrate Stripe billing and metering.
• Own backend workflows for training jobs and asynchronous compute using FastAPI and Temporal‑style orchestration.
• Contribute to platform security and reliability, including row‑level security, authentication and audit logging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years shipping customer‑facing full‑stack software.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Based in Singapore or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• Python (FastAPI)
• TypeScript (Svelte preferred; React or Vue acceptable)
• PostgreSQL with row‑level security
• Machine‑learning libraries such as scikit‑learn and PyTorch
• Experience with Stripe integration
• Familiarity with Temporal‑style orchestration
