Research Associate - Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Electronics Engineering

About the role

The College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is recruiting a Research Associate to work on a Vision-Language project. The research covers visual reasoning, vision and language, and causal reasoning. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Key responsibilities

• Develop visual reasoning methods for vision and language, including visual question answering, visual dialog, visual commonsense reasoning, visual captioning, object detection and video analysis.
• Develop causal reasoning tools, including causal inference, counterfactual analysis and causal discovery.
• Develop deep learning methods on computer vision.

Required profile

• Master's degree preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• At least one publication on a related topic in top-tier journals and conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, TPAMI, IJCV, TIP or TMM.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and causal inference.
• Demonstrated project experience in causal inference is an advantage.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or MXNet.
• Programming in Python, MATLAB, R and/or C++.
