Research Associate – Experimental Psychology & Neuroscience

About the role

We are seeking a Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary Science of Learning team at Nanyang Technological University. The role focuses on developing brain‑based machine‑learning models to identify early mathematical learning difficulties in kindergarten and primary‑school children.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day project activities, including data collection with young participants.
• Manage neuroimaging studies (fMRI, structural MRI) and behavioural assessments.
• Support grant administration and prepare ethics documentation.
• Conduct literature reviews and draft progress or policy reports for stakeholders.
• Supervise full‑time, part‑time research staff and undergraduate assistants.
• Contribute to the development and validation of predictive machine‑learning and deep‑learning models.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MSc) in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, educational neuroscience, or a related field.
• Strong organisational and detail‑oriented skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging children in research settings.
