Research Associate – Health Data Science

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Associate to join a multidisciplinary team focused on health data science. The role involves developing statistical and mathematical models to investigate healthcare‑associated infections and contributes to cutting‑edge research across several national institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop models to understand the transmissibility of infectious diseases.
• Build models to assess medium‑ to long‑term disease burden across spatial scales.
• Conduct literature reviews and generate research questions.
• Analyse data using statistical and data‑science techniques.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with researchers from national and international institutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, computer science, data science, biomedical engineering).
• 0–2 years of relevant research experience.
• Strong interest in epidemiology, infectious diseases and health data science.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and good organisational skills.
