Research Associate – Microplastics & Health

About the role
The Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health (CCEH) at NTU seeks a Research Associate to develop and apply advanced modelling frameworks that assess the health impacts of microplastics across air, water, soil, and food systems. You will integrate monitoring data with exposure models, simulate fate and transport, and quantify human exposure under varying environmental and policy scenarios.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement models of microplastic fate, transport, and human exposure across multiple media.
- Integrate environmental monitoring and laboratory datasets with exposure and risk‑assessment frameworks.
- Analyse model outputs to generate evidence‑based insights for policy and public‑health stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in atmospheric science, geography, meteorology, environmental health or a related discipline.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Recent publications in relevant research areas (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Entry‑level candidates are welcome.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in R.
