Research Engineer – AI & Computer Science

About the role

The Alibaba‑NTU Global e‑Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) is seeking a motivated Research Engineer to contribute to the development of PrimeNet, an innovative AI‑driven platform supporting Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and Smart Nation initiatives. You will work at the intersection of computer science and artificial intelligence to create sustainable digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cutting‑edge research to design and implement novel algorithms.
• Review scientific literature and stay current with advancements in AI, NLP, and deep learning.
• Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and model performance.
• Translate research concepts into functional prototypes and real‑world applications.
• Develop clean, efficient, and scalable Python code for algorithm implementation.
• Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to support model training and evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, identify patterns, and derive insights from data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and presenting research findings.
