About the role
The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Engineer I to lead investigations into compact, high‑brightness X‑ray sources. The role focuses on miniaturising particle accelerators for free‑electron‑driven X‑ray generation, aiming to bring table‑top capabilities to industrial, medical and scientific applications.
Key responsibilities
- Explore and develop techniques for shrinking particle accelerators used in X‑ray sources.
- Conduct fundamental research on electron‑photon interactions within emerging materials and nanostructures.
- Publish findings in high‑impact journals covering nanophotonics and quantum physics.
- Assist in supervising undergraduate research projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong academic background with a drive for continuous learning.
- Self‑motivated, capable of independent work and effective teamwork.
- Prior research experience in related topics is advantageous.
