Research Fellow (Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence)

About the role

Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab offers an excellent R&D environment to create novel technologies with Hyundai, translating research into the factory using AI, robotics, 3D printing and digital twins. The Research Fellow will lead the “Manual Assembly Job Quality Inspection” project, focusing on AI algorithm development for defect detection and image/video analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI technologies for defect detection, image/video analysis and understanding.
• Perform system integration of the developed algorithms.
• Oversee project budget and coordinate procurement and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students.
• Prepare and compile reports pertaining to the project.

Required profile

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in computer vision and artificial intelligence.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Strong publication record.
