About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU seeks a Research Fellow to develop data‑enabled predictive controllers for autonomous robots, focusing on safety guarantees. This role combines experimental, simulation, and theoretical work within a cutting‑edge engineering research environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead and contribute to experiments, simulations, or theoretical work aligned with the project’s goals.
Lead and co‑author peer‑reviewed journal articles, conference papers, or technical reports.
Plan timelines, manage resources, and report progress to the Principal Investigator.
Develop a personal research profile and prepare for the next career stage.

Required profile

PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
Strong background in control theory, optimisation‑based algorithms and/or machine learning.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Curious and ambitious research mindset with a strong work ethic.

Required skills

Python programming.
C/C++ programming.
