About the role
The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to join the Decarbonisation Programme focused on sustainable biomass conversion. The role involves developing and optimising flow‑chemistry processes for small‑scale conversions and scaling them up.
Key responsibilities
- Design and construct a flexible flow platform for biomass conversion experiments.
- Implement automation and closed‑loop optimisation for the platform.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, manage supplies, and liaise with vendors.
- Prepare high‑quality reports and documentation of research findings.
- Mentor junior researchers and students, fostering a collaborative research environment.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with Python programming.
- Background in flow chemistry and reactor design (beneficial).
- Experience in process control, PAT, and closed‑loop optimisation.
- Familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics and laboratory automation.
- Ability to conduct independent research while collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.
