Research Fellow – Lipid/Polymer Formulation for RNA Therapeutics

About the role

The Laboratory for RNA Delivery Therapeutics at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to develop innovative lipid‑ and polymer‑based delivery systems for RNA therapeutics. The role focuses on designing, formulating, and evaluating stimuli‑responsive nanoparticles to improve delivery efficiency and endosomal escape.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise stimuli‑responsive nanoparticle formulations for RNA delivery.
• Formulate lipid‑ or polymer‑based nanoparticles loaded with RNA cargo.
• Characterise physicochemical properties and performance of formulations.
• Assess RNA transfection efficiency and endosomal escape in vitro.
• Conduct bioimaging studies of mammalian cells using techniques such as confocal microscopy, FRET, and FRAP.
• Perform in vivo studies with relevant animal models.
• Analyse and interpret experimental data, including delivery performance metrics.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• Research experience in stimuli‑responsive RNA delivery, lipid/polymer nanoparticle formulation, and evaluation of RNA delivery.
• Strong publication record and ability to conduct independent research.
• Excellent communication skills.
