Research Fellow – LLM-based Smart Assistant for Automotive Maintenance

About the role

The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, in partnership with Hyundai Motor Group and A*STAR, is seeking a Research Fellow to lead the development of a Large Language Model (LLM)‑based smart assistant system for automotive equipment maintenance. This role sits within the newly inaugurated Corporate Lab, a cutting‑edge testbed for AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research and development of the LLM‑based smart assistant system.
• Guide a multidisciplinary team of researchers in designing and implementing solutions.
• Propose innovative approaches to address technical challenges such as multi‑query strategies and information fusion.
• Design, conduct, and evaluate experiments to validate research ideas.
• Collaborate with academic and industry partners, reporting progress to stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven research track record demonstrated by publications, conference papers, patents, or similar outputs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research‑intensive environment.
