Research Fellow (Mathematical AI)

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for three Research Fellows to join Associate Professor Xia Kelin's team. The project develops Mathematical AI techniques such as geometric/topological/algebraic data analysis, geometric/topological deep learning, categorical deep learning, sheaf neural networks, PINN/KAN models and neural operators, and applies them to molecular sciences including biology, chemistry and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of Mathematical AI techniques
• Perform data preprocessing, algorithm and model design, scientific computing and experimental validation
• Prepare research papers, reports and presentations to share findings
• Take part in regular team meetings and help advance the project

Required profile

• PhD in mathematics, AI or a related area, with a strong background in the listed mathematical AI topics and molecular sciences
• Previous research experience and a publication record in a related field preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Required skills

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R or similar
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
