About the role
The School of Applied Sciences at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to lead investigations into mineral‑based carbon sequestration and engineered carbon dioxide removal (CDR) systems. The role focuses on developing monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) frameworks, conducting environmental impact assessments, and translating research outcomes into practical solutions for Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Key responsibilities
- Lead research projects on scalable carbon dioxide removal and mineral‑based mitigation approaches.
- Design and implement MRV methodologies and environmental monitoring frameworks.
- Conduct field, laboratory, and modelling studies to evaluate performance and impacts.
- Publish scientific papers and produce policy‑relevant outputs.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and public‑sector partners to advance applied solutions.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to programme development.
Required profile
- PhD in geoscience, environmental science, oceanography or a closely related discipline.
- Strong research track record in climate mitigation, carbon sequestration, or related fields.
- Experience in interdisciplinary and applied research environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
