Research Fellow – Nanophotonic Scintillators

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance nanophotonic scintillator technology for X‑ray and high‑energy particle detection. The role combines experimental work, simulation, and scientific communication.

Key responsibilities

• Perform experiments using a time‑resolved photoluminescence setup and related apparatus.
• Develop theoretical frameworks and run simulations with MEEP, COMSOL, and custom code (C++, Python, Matlab).
• Lead manuscript preparation and publish in high‑impact journals.
• Present research findings at top‑tier international conferences.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
• Assist the Principal Investigator with grant writing and project logistics.

Required profile

• PhD in nanophotonics, scintillators, or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with Maxwell’s equations, nanophotonic simulations, and optical measurements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently, and meet strict timelines.
• Entry‑level candidates are welcome.
