Research Fellow – NMR Spectroscopy

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to lead and support cutting‑edge NMR spectroscopy projects. You will work closely with a principal investigator, contributing to both experimental and computational studies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine instrument calibration, cryogenic maintenance, and advanced hardware troubleshooting to maintain 100% uptime of NMR spectrometers.
• Configure laboratory servers and run structural simulations using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) to complement experimental data.
• Develop custom scripts and data‑analysis workflows to enhance NMR data processing.
• Participate actively in PI‑led research initiatives and publish findings.

Required profile

• PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, material sciences or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with NMR spectroscopy.
• Strong interest in basic research, NMR development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to engage in extensive training in solid‑state and solution NMR.

• NMR spectroscopy (instrument operation, calibration, maintenance).
