Research Fellow – Psychology/Education (24‑month contract)

About the role

The School of Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow in Psychology/Education to join the Ministry of Education‑funded PATHS project. This 24‑month fixed‑term position will support a longitudinal study of 500‑600 Primary 1 students across more than 20 schools, aiming to identify learner sub‑groups and improve learning support for low‑progress students.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the project across schools, the Ministry of Education, NTU, NIE and external consultants over four data‑collection waves.
• Maintain ethics applications, oversee participant recruitment and manage data‑collection logistics.
• Supervise research assistants and part‑time student assistants in administering psycho‑educational assessments.
• Develop and run quantitative analysis pipelines using Mplus, R and other statistical software.
• Prepare progress reports, policy briefs, presentations and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Handle administrative and procurement tasks as required by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
• Strong quantitative background with experience in advanced statistical methods.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑site, school‑based research and ethics documentation.
• Excellent written and spoken English for high‑quality reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
