Research Fellow – Quantum Computing (Postdoctoral)

About the role

The Nanyang Quantum Solutions team at NTU Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to develop geometrically‑designed quantum algorithms for preparing cold many‑body states on emerging quantum hardware. This postdoctoral position works closely with Prof. Marek Gluza to bridge theoretical insights and experimental implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Translate differential‑geometry concepts into quantum algorithms that outperform state‑of‑the‑art methods such as Quantum Phase Estimation.
• Design and optimise quantum circuits based on double‑bracket flows for execution on platforms like Helios or Heron.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to integrate algorithms with cold‑atom quantum processors under Singapore’s National Quantum Strategy.
• Develop R&D solutions under NDAs with commercial partners and in‑house prototypes.
• Deliver high‑quality quantum middleware that connects software frameworks to hardware capabilities.

Required profile

• PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science or a related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in quantum circuit implementation or related research.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and mentor junior peers.

Required skills

• Familiarity with standard quantum computing SDKs.
• Proficiency in programming languages for numerical and analytical work.
• Hands‑on experience executing quantum circuits on quantum hardware.
